GENERAL FUNCTION:

To ensure the effective operation of the slot machines.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair any machine that goes down during the shift
  • Ensures the security and the reliability of the gaming devices
  • Performs regular maintenance on the machine as time permits
  • Keeps a current log of work performed
  • Explain and promote functions of any machine in the casino when questioned by guests or fellow team members
  • Must abide by all departmental and casino policies and procedures complies with Tribal, State, and Federal Gaming standards

EDUCATION:

MARKETING MANAGER

1 Position: Full-Time
DEPARTMENT:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Serves as Marketing Specialist and in all matters of Casino Sales and Promotional Marketing.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, implements, controls, evaluates and improves all aspects of the operations of the Sales & Marketing department with full accountability for financial planning and performance, protection and utilization of physical assets and supervision of employees in compliance with Dakota Sioux Casino policy and procedures.
  • Consult with primary income departments in the development and promotion of short and long term promotional strategies.
  • Supervises and directs preparation of all promotional and event activities.
  • Coordinates all legal and contractual obligations with General Manager and fiscal department.
  • Under the direction of the General Manager, the Marketing Manager plans, directs and coordinates the marketing department’s advertising, promotions, special events and reinvestment programs.
  • This position is responsible for strategically developing the vision and direction for the marketing department and property
  • Reports to the General Manager
  • Assists with the development and implementation of short and long term strategic marketing plans involving advertising, promotions, special events, and reinvestment programs
  • Manages the marketing budget and communicates results and forecasts to the General Manager.
  • Works to develop marketing plans and strategies to execute business plans and grow revenue
  • Leads and participates in management level meetings intended to communicate marketing initiatives for the organization

Cage:

Cashier

1 Position: Full-Time Day/Swing/Grave/Weekends/Holidays
DEPARTMENT:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for providing our casino guests with excellent cashier services efficiently and accurately while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude. Services include cash exchange and check cashing transactions, as well as other monetary transfer of funds.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Available to work all shifts (Day, Swing, Graveyard)
  • Total accountability imprest bank.
  • Computer knowledge is helpful.
  • Customer service is a must.
  • Must obtain a Key Gaming License upon hire.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists customers – cash checks in accordance with company policy.
  • Redeems coupons, exchange cash for Ticket In Ticket Out (TITO) tickets and gaming chips.
  • Count and balance each assigned bank at start and end of every shift with little to no assistance from others.
  • Logs control keys.
  • Record and balance currency transactions via computer.
  • Acts as soft count member.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or necessary.

Porter

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Porter Department provides a safe and friendly environment for guests and team members by establishing and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas of the casino in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must obtain non-gaming license upon hire.
  • Ability to handle diverse situations and/or people.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; work closely with other departments.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Flexible availability-including weekends.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift up to fifty (50) pounds or more.
  • Ability to carry up to twenty (20) pounds on a continual basis.
  • Ability to push or pull fifty (50) pounds or more on a cart, dolly or two-wheeler; or while operating vacuum/shampooer.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains cleanliness of all areas as directed by Porter Supervisor or Manager.
  • Janitorial cleaning for all assigned areas as directed by porter manager and/or supervisor.
  • Removes trash, replaces ashtrays, and wipes and cleans all ashtrays and trash cans.
  • Customer service, to include providing service and information to guests.
  • Cleans between slot machines, removes glasses and trash, and discards all empty bottles around guests and maintains those areas without disrupting play.
  • Keeps all slot chairs/table chairs clean in assigned areas.
  • Heavy cleaning such as shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, pressure washing, emptying trash cans, and performing bio-hazard clean-up.
  • Maintains all porter department equipment and supplies in an orderly manner.
  • Report all equipment malfunctioning and supply shortages.
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks all restrooms in assigned areas.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.

Gift Shop:

Cashier

DEPARTMENT:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Gift Shop Clerk position is responsible for providing quality service to guests of Dakota Sioux Casino & Hotel and assisting in efficient operations of the Gift Shop.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides quality customer service in a friendly, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Possess basic math and cash handling knowledge.
  • Operate cash register.
  • Receive payment by cash, credit card, or Player’s Club card
  • Verify and maintain cash bank amounts throughout the shift.
  • Stock and merchandise shelves as needed.
  • Track inventory and communicate with the Retail Manager regarding inventory needs.
  • Sanitization of high-traffic areas.
  • Ensure all guests are of applicable age to their purchases; i.e. must be eighteen (18) to purchase energy drinks and twenty-one (21) for tobacco and alcohol products.
  • Cross-train for the C-Store.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Twenty-one (21) years of age.

OTHER:

Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must complete Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) training. Must obtain a non-gaming license upon hire.

Hotel:

Night Auditor

1 Position: Full-Time Grave/Weekends/Holidays – OVERNIGHT SHIFT 9pm – 7am
DEPARTMENT:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Night Auditor is responsible for various front desk tasks, keeping financial records up to date and tending to the needs of guests.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Answers and directs incoming call to their appropriate location.
  • Takes hotel reservations over the phone or in person.
  • Operates the hotel/reservation software and other office equipment.
  • Checks guests in and out via reservation software.
  • Interacts with the guests in a polite, professional manner.
  • Responsible for cash drawer; ensures it balances at the end of shift.
  • Updates software from the previous day and ensures readiness for the next business day.
  • Occasional concierge, shuttle and light janitorial duties.
  • Knowledge of HVAC system.
  • Effectively communicate with various vendors.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Previous experience in night audit preferred.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Performs culinary, counter and sanitation services in a friendly, courteous and timely manner. Acts as a cook and as a cashier when cooking and transacting food and drink.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides excellent guest service to both guests and internal clients through greetings in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Maintains cleanliness of guest areas at all times including but not limited to removing dirty dishes and other service utensils.
  • Inputs and controls ordering through register during each transaction maintaining accountability as well as receipts to guests for all food served.
  • Follows basic recipe specifications in manual for set-up and cold preparations, and maintains high quality and consistency.
  • Maintains a high-quality environment while continuously labeling and rotating foods.
  • Sets stations for service and maintains by cleaning and keeping them properly stocked.
  • General sanitation including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down of all kitchen areas.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all kitchen equipment according to the manual and returns all equipment to proper place.
  • Performs opening and closing duties per departmental and casino policy and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Server position provides service to the guests of the Mustangs restaurant; including but not limited to acting as hostess, server and cashier.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, taking out trash and keeping server/cashier station clean.
  • Provide all guests with excellent customer service by greeting and thanking them for their patronage.
  • Be aware of all specials/promotions throughout the casino.
  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items, including describing ingredients and cooking methods.
  • Maintain a till that will be counted before and after each shift with a Cage department team member.
  • Take and place orders for all guests (internal and external).
  • Prepare and serve all non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Prepare and maintain tables for meal service.
  • Maintain stock of condiments.
  • Must submit a weekly tip report.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.

  • High school diploma or GED required.

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Protects company assets and provides a safe environment for guests and team members. Exhibit a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with both guests and team members. Maintains security activities and performs credit transactions adhering to company, Tribal, State, and Federal guidelines. Works closely with Casino & Hotel Management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide security for company resources, guests, and team members in accordance with Dakota Nation Gaming Enterprise and the respective security department policies
  • Perform chip and credit transactions and money transfers, verify amount by signature, in accordance with company, Tribal, State and Federal guidelines
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and proficiency in casino and department procedures and policies
  • Detect and correct safety and/or security problems that endanger guests, team members, or assets
  • Respond to incidents, unusual occurrences and take immediate action, when appropriate, to correct the situation and/or report the incident
  • Escort casino funds and direct traffic to ensure safety
  • Apprehend suspects to prevent escape and/or loss of company resources
  • Assist and provide medical aid
  • Perform other functions and tasks assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Receives public and team member inquiries in person or by telephone in a polite and professional manner
  • Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of skill in the use of radio codes, signals and call letters or numbers used by Dakota Sioux Casino Security Department
