Accounting:

DROP TEAM MEMBER

1 Position: Full-Time Day/Swing/Weekends/Holidays
DEPARTMENT:
Accounting

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for the inventory of Cage/Casino coin and chip assets. Assist in providing an accurate count for daily service drops. Work in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures as stated in the Dakota Sioux Casino Cage Employee Manual.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct, record, and watch daily service drops
  • Count, verify, record, and bundle different denominations of bills and tokens
  • Support all general accounting functions as directed, including blackjack gaming reconciliations, poker drops sheets, hard count drop, and wrap sheets
  • Back-up support for other count team members (on call)
  • As a team member, you will participate in a slot machine coin drop and assist in tagging each slot machine by reference number
  • Empty machines into pre-numbered coin drop buckets, weighing each bucket on a coin scale to determine the accuracy of each scaled weight, and prepare coins or tokens by denomination for automated wrapping
  • Verify coin by denomination and arrange it in the vault
  • Keep work area clean and free of debris, clean sorters daily
  • Issues daily vault wrap and count sheets to shift manager so they can be put into the Cage summary report
  • Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Accounting background, the ability to work well with numbers, and computer knowledge are required as well as a willingness to be trained in these areas
  • Detail-orientated, self-starter with the ability to work well with others
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Heavy lifting, moving, bending, stretching, and standing for long periods of time
  • Must obtain key gaming license upon hire

REVENUE AUDITOR

1 Position: Full-Time Day
DEPARTMENT:
Accounting

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Reviews and compiles all paperwork produced by the restaurant, deli, lounge, and table games. Also tracks complimentary item cards. Pulls reports from software and completes audit worksheets in Excel. Maintains filing system for department audits and complimentary item cards. Assists other auditors when needed, and completes other duties as assigned. Monitors compliance with Internal Controls and reports any irregularities or exceptions to the Controller. Remains current on Tribal, State, and Federal gaming rules and regulations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safeguards company assets
  • Reviews and compiles all paperwork produced by the restaurant, deli, lounge, and table games
  • Generates detailed and summarized reports for each revenue category
  • Monitors compliance with Internal Controls
  • Reports any irregularities or exceptions to the Controller
  • Inputs daily revenue department data into Excel workbook for financial reporting
  • The individual will share accounting duties with other co-workers to ensure accounting functions are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Complies with other duties as assigned by the controller, assistant controller, and/or general manager

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Associates in accounting required – current students acceptable
  • Six months of accounting experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience with Microsoft Office – particularly Excel

Cage:

CAGE MANAGER

DEPARTMENT:

Cage

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Manage, plan, and coordinate the activities and operations of the cage department—administrator of all cage regulations, policies, procedures, and related internal controls.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, implements, controls, evaluates and improves all aspects of the Cage department with full accountability for financial planning and performance, protection and utilization of physical assets and supervision of employees in compliance with Dakota Sioux Casino policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for coordinating the NIGC minimum internal controls and DSC internal controls as they pertain to the cage and other casino departments.
  • Responsible for proper usage and accuracy of appropriate transaction/reporting forms and cage summary sheets, vault and main bank inventory sheets, and reconciliation reports.
  • Safeguard the Casino assets.
  • Responsible for making daily deposits according to the bank procedures.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of all cage employees and the implementation of the standard operating procedures.
  • Act as custodian of records for the cage department.
  • Responsible for training cage employees.
  • Maintain overall authority and control over all cage property and inventories.
  • Cage Manager retains signatory authority to countersign all authorization forms.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as necessary to fill the requirements of this position.

EDUCATION:

High School diploma or G.E.D equivalent. A.A. degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration is required. Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of previous experience is preferred. Must be able to work all shifts (Day, Swing, Graveyard).

OTHER:

Must obtain a Key Gaming License. Computer knowledge is helpful.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, and reach. sitting, standing, or walking for extended periods of time.

CASHIER

DEPARTMENT:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for providing our casino guests with excellent cashier services efficiently and accurately while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude. Services include cash exchange and check cashing transactions, as well as other monetary transfers of funds.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Available to work all shifts. (Day, Swing, Graveyard)
  • Total accountability for imprest bank
  • Computer knowledge helpful
  • Customer service is a must
  • Must obtain a Key Gaming License upon hire

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist customers – cash checks per company policy, redeem coupons, exchange cash for TITO (Ticket In Ticket Out) tickets and gaming chips.
  • Count and balance each assigned bank at the start and end of every shift with little to no assistance from others.
  • Logs control keys.
  • Record and balance currency transactions via computer.
  • Acts as soft count member.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or necessary.

Porter:

PORTER

1 Position: Full-Time/Grave/Weekends/Holidays
DEPARTMENT:

Porter

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Porter Department provides a safe and friendly environment for guests and team members by establishing and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas of the casino in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must obtain a non-gaming license upon hire.
  • Ability to handle diverse situations and/or people.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; work closely with other departments.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Flexible availability-including weekends.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and lift up to fifty (50) pounds or more.
  • Ability to carry up to twenty (20) pounds on a continual basis.
  • Ability to push or pull fifty (50) pounds or more on a cart, dolly, or two-wheeler; or while operating vacuum/shampooer.
  • Standing or walking for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional exposure to weather conditions.
  • Work is performed throughout the property, indoors and outdoors.
  • Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, and air quality.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains cleanliness of all areas as directed by Porter’s Supervisor or Manager.
  • Janitorial cleaning for all assigned areas as directed by the porter manager and/or supervisor.
  • Removes trash, replaces ashtrays, and wipes and cleans all ashtrays and trash cans.
  • Customer service includes providing service and information to guests.
  • Cleans between slot machines removes glasses and trash, discards all empty bottles around guests, and maintains those areas without disrupting play.
  • Keeps all slot chairs/table chairs clean in assigned areas.
  • Heavy cleaning such as shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, pressure washing, emptying trash cans, and performing bio-hazard clean-up.
  • Maintains all Porter department equipment and supplies in an orderly manner.
  • Report all equipment malfunctioning and supply shortages.
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks all restrooms in assigned areas.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.

Security:

SUPERVISOR

1 Position: Full-Time Day/Swing/Grave/Weekends/Holidays
DEPARTMENT:

Security

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Supervises security personnel on shift. Safeguards company assets. The supervisor will assist the Security Manager.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safeguards assets.
  • Administer all security activity for assigned shifts and to ensure compliance with company rules and regulations.
  • Directs employees engaged in emergency situations.
  • Prepare written incident reports for customer complaints or disputes.
  • Has access to all areas under the direction of the Director of Security.
  • To supervise the activities of the Security Officers.
  • Supervises training in addition to the security certifications mandated by the Gaming Commission rules and regulations.
  • To assist in ensuring that cash and other assets of the casino are protected at all times.
  • To assist in maintaining order in the casino.
  • Rotate the Security Officers in making the Blackjack drop count and Slot machine
  • drop and closing of any or all departments involved with a cash register.
  • To supervise the clocking in and out of employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Must not have a felony on their record.
  • Should have some type of law enforcement background.
  • Supervisory experience is necessary, In-house security background will be considered.
  • Must be physically fit and able to lift 40+ lbs.
  • Capable of doing scheduling and administrative paperwork.
  • Must obtain a Key Gaming License upon hire.

OFFICER

DEPARTMENT:

Security

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Protects company assets and provides a safe environment for guests and team members. Exhibit a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and team members. Maintains security activities and performs credit transactions adhering to company, Tribal, State, and Federal guidelines. Works closely with Casino & Hotel Management.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide security for company resources, guests, and team members per Dakota Nation Gaming Enterprise and the respective security department policies
  • Perform chip and credit transactions and money transfers, verify amount by signature, per company, Tribal, State, and Federal guidelines
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and proficiency in casino and department procedures and policies
  • Detect and correct safety and/or security problems that endanger guests, team members, or assets
  • Respond to incidents, and unusual occurrences and take immediate action, when appropriate, to correct the situation and/or report the incident
  • Escort casino funds and direct traffic to ensure safety
  • Apprehend suspects to prevent escape and/or loss of company resources
  • Assist and provide medical aid
  • Perform other functions and tasks assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must complete all security certifications within one year of hire per the Gaming Commission rules and regulations
