Security Officer

1 Positions: Full-Time/Day & Swing/Grave/Holidays
DEPARTMENT:

Security

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Protects company assets and provides a safe environment for guests and team members. Exhibit a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with both guests and team members. Maintains security activities and performs credit transactions adhering to company, Tribal, State, and Federal guidelines. Works closely with Casino and Hotel Management. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to work irregular hours
  • Dependable and punctual
  • Physically fit and able to lift 40+ lbs.
  • Must complete all security certifications within one year of hire in accordance with the Gaming Commissions rules and regulations

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide a security for company resources, guests and team members in accordance with Dakota Nation Gaming Enterprise and the respective security department policies
  • Perform chip and credit transactions and money transfers, verifies amount by signature, in accordance with company, Tribal, State and Federal guidelines
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge and proficiency in casino and department procedures and policies
  • Detect and correct safety and/or security problems which endanger guests, team members or assets
  • Respond to incidents, unusual occurrences and take immediate action, when appropriate, to correct the situation and/or report the incident
  • Escort casino funds and direct traffic to ensure safety
  • Apprehend suspects to prevent escape and/or loss of company resources
  • Assist and provide medical aid
  • Perform other functions and tasks assigned

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Basic computer skills a must

ON THE JOB TRAINING: 

  • Ongoing training on Dakota Nation Gaming Enterprise and respective security department policy and procedures
  • Medical aid training in CPR and first aid
  • Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM training)
  • Taser Certification
  • PPCT/Use of Force Training

Sportsbook Writer / Teller

1 Temporary Position: Full-Time/Day/Swing/Weekends/Holidays
DEPARTMENT:

Sports Book

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Writer/Teller will provide exceptional service and create a fun and welcoming experience for all guests within the Sports Book area. The Writer must be able to process all Sports Book transactions quickly, accurately and in accordance with wagering and payment policies.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write, verify, and make payments on tickets for sports wagers in accordance with department policy and procedures and ensures compliance.
  • Make payments on winning tickets in an accurate and timely manner; verify tickets and payoffs
  • Maintain and reconcile bank for assigned shift, following established cash-handling policies and procedures
  • Effectively and consistently communicates betting rules and provides betting instructions to guests in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • Promotes positive guest relations through prompt, courteous, and efficient service
  • Monitors assigned area for cleanliness.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must have the ability to perform basic housekeeping duties of reception area. Walking up and down stairs, stooping, sitting for long periods of time and lifting.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke.  Extensive computer use.  Must handle hazardous materials.  Must be flexible with work schedule. Must be willing to work any hours and/or shift, as assigned, according to business needs.  Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals. High volume direct public contact.

Porter

DEPARTMENT:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Porter Department provides a safe and friendly environment for guests and team members by establishing and maintaining the cleanliness of assigned areas of the casino in compliance with departmental policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Twenty-one (21) years of age
  • Must obtain non-gaming license upon hire.
  • Ability to handle diverse situations and/or people.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; work closely with other departments.
  • Excellent guest service skills.
  • Flexible availability-including weekends.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift up to fifty (50) pounds or more.
  • Ability to carry up to twenty (20) pounds on a continual basis.
  • Ability to push or pull fifty (50) pounds or more on a cart, dolly or two-wheeler; or while operating vacuum/shampooer.
  • Standing or walking for extended periods of time.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains cleanliness of all areas as directed by Porter Supervisor or Manager.
  • Janitorial cleaning for all assigned areas as directed by porter manager and/or supervisor.
  • Removes trash, replaces ashtrays, and wipes and cleans all ashtrays and trash cans.
  • Customer service, to include providing service and information to guests.
  • Cleans between slot machines, removes glasses and trash, and discards all empty bottles around guests and maintains those areas without disrupting play.
  • Keeps all slot chairs/table chairs clean in assigned areas.
  • Heavy cleaning such as shampooing carpets, stripping and waxing floors, pressure washing, emptying trash cans, and performing bio-hazard clean-up.
  • Maintains all porter department equipment and supplies in an orderly manner.
  • Report all equipment malfunctioning and supply shortages.
  • Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks all restrooms in assigned areas.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.

Event Staff

  • Assuming the role of Ticket Taker, waitstaff, welcoming guests, among other duties Working as ushers and ensuring that seating arrangements adhere to guest needs and/or expectations
  • Working under the instructions of the Group Sales Coordinator
  • Ensuring the event hall is clean and organized before, during, and after the event.
  • Adhering to event safety standards.
  • Ensuring excellent levels of customer service.
  • Dispensing useful information to event-goers.

  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to lift at least 35lb.
  • Cooking and food handling experience is required.
  • Must obtain an Employee Gaming License

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •  Keep all work areas stocked, rotating foods as necessary.
  • Refer to kitchen Personnel Handbook for proper food handling procedures
  • Read cooler thermometers
  • Maintain a clean work station

Count Team Member

1 Position: Full-Time/Day/Weekends/Holidays

DEPARTMENT: 

Accounting

GENERAL FUNCTION: 

Responsible for the inventory of Cage/Casino coin and chip assets. Assist in providing an accurate count for daily service drops. Work in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures as stated in the Dakota Sioux Casino Cage Employee Manual.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Accounting background, the ability to work well with numbers, computer knowledge is required as well as willingness to be trained in these areas
  • Detail orientated, self-starter with ability to work well with others
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Heavy lifting, moving, bending, stretching and standing for long periods of time
  • Must obtain key gaming license upon hire

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Conduct, record and watch daily service drops
  • Count, verify, record and bundle different denominations of bills and tokens
  • Support all general accounting functions as directed, including blackjack gaming reconciliations, poker drops sheets, hard count drop and wrap sheets
  • Back-up support for other count team members (on call)
  • As a team member you will participate in a slot machine coin drop and assist in tagging of each slot machine by reference number
  • Empty machines into pre-numbered coin drop buckets, weighing each bucket on a coin scale to determine accuracy of each scaled weight, prepare coins or tokens by denomination for automated wrapping
  • Verify coin by denomination and arrange in vault
  • Keep work area clean and free of debris, clean sorters daily
  • Issues daily vault wrap and count sheets to shift manager so it can be put into Cage summary report
  • Other duties as assigned

Cage Cashier

1 Position: Full-Time/Swing/Grave/Weekends/Holidays
DEPARTMENT:

Cage

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Responsible for providing our casino guests with excellent cashier services efficiently and accurately while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude. Services include cash exchange and check cashing transactions, as well as other monetary transfer of funds.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Available to work all shifts. (Day, Swing, Graveyard)
  • Total accountability for imprest bank.
  • Computer knowledge helpful
  • Customer service a must.
  • Must obtain a Key Gaming License upon hire.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist customers – cash checks in accordance with company policy, redeem
  • Coupons, exchange cash for TITO (Ticket In Ticket Out) tickets and gaming chips
  • Count and balance each assigned bank at the start and end of every shift with little to no assistance from others. Logs control keys.
  • Record and balance currency transactions via computerActs as soft count member.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or necessary.
  • Title 31 training

Cage Manager

1 Position: Full-Time Day/Swing/Grave/Weekends/Holidays
DEPARTMENT:

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Manage, plan and coordinate the activities and operations of the cage department.  Administrator of all cage regulations, policies, procedures and related internal controls.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • A. degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting/Business Administration preferred.
  • Two years previous experience referred
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must obtain a Key Gaming License.
  • Must be able to manage a rotating work schedule

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plans, implements, controls, evaluates and improves all aspects of the Cage department with full accountability for financial planning and performance, protection and utilization of physical assets and supervision of employees in compliance with Dakota Sioux Casino policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for coordinating the NIGC minimum internal controls and DSC internal controls as they pertain to the cage and to other casino departments.
  • Responsible for proper usage and accuracy of appropriate transaction/reporting forms and cage summary sheets, vault and main bank inventory sheets and reconciliation reports.
  • Safeguard’s casino assets.
  • Responsible for making daily deposits according to the bank procedures.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision of all cage employees and the implementation of the standard operating procedures.
  • Register departmental deposits from all casino operational transactions.
  • Acts as custodian of records for cage department.
  • Responsible for training cage employees.
  • Maintains overall authority and control over all cage property and inventories.
  • Cage Manager retains signatory authority to countersign all authorization forms.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as necessary to fill the requirements of this position.

Players Club Clerk

1 Position: Full-Time Day/Swing/Grave/Weekends/Holidays
DEPARTMENT:

Marketing

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Perform a variety of guest services functions to customers, including Players Club.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Must have computer experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of casino operations, including floor layout.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must obtain a Key Gaming License upon hire.
  • Minimal bending and lifting.
  • Repetitious computer work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Introduces and explains the benefits of Players Club membership to guests and registers new members into the database.
  • Determines the eligibility of members for comps.
  • Answers guests’ inquiries regarding club programs, player points, and general casino information.
  • Identifies and welcomes VIP players and Players Club members.
  • Surveys floor to identify guests not using a club card, informs them of thebenefits of Players Club membership, and encourages enrollment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Participates in special events and promotions as needed.

C-Store Clerk

GENERAL FUNCTION:

The C-Store Clerk position provides quality customer service to guests and assists in the efficient operations of the C-Store.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must complete Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) training.
  • Must obtain a non-gaming license upon hire.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides quality customer service in a friendly, courteous, and helpful manner.
  • Possess basic math and cash handling knowledge.
  • Operate cash register.
  • Receive payment by cash, credit card, or Player’s Club redemptions.
  • Verify and maintain cash bank amounts throughout the shift.
  • Stock and merchandise shelves as needed.
  • Track inventory and communicate with the Retail Manager regarding inventory needs.
  • Sanitization of high-traffic areas.
  • Ensure all guests are of applicable age to their purchases, i.e. must be eighteen (18) to purchase energy drinks and twenty-one (21) for tobacco and alcohol products.
  • Cross-train for the Gift Shop.
  • Performs other duties as necessary and assigned.
